/ GREAT YARMOUTH INTERNATIONAL CONCERT SERIES

19.11.2009

The 2nd Great Yarmouth International Concert Series saw four concerts from some of the cream of Europe's artists and orchestras.  The series, designed to bring some of the best musicians to Yarmouth with a programme of accessible classical music, kicked off in November 2009 with a visit from the Polish National Radio Symphony Orchestra.

The New Year saw a treat in the form of the Czech National Symphony Orchestra, joined by talented British virtuoso, Charlie Siem.  In March, the series moved to an afternoon slot for a delightful concert of chopin and Beethoven pieces from Russian pianist, Nikolai Demidenko.

The series reached a stirring conclusion in April when Freddy Kempf joined the European Union Chamber Orchestra for a popular programme of music including the hauntingly beautiful Adagio for Strings.

The Hippodrome once again offered an atmospheric setting and unique opportunity to get closer to this wonderful group of musicians.
